The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy

I have always had trouble with slow starting books. This book still hadn't grabbed and kept my attention by page 62. And for that I will rate a 2 **. For me to like a book it has to be able to grab and keep my attention. Not keep me wondering how much longer to I have to read this thing.

Divergent By Veronica Roth (Divergent # 1)

I am always hesitant to try reading the books that movies are based off of, if I have seen the movie before reading the book. Glad I gave this book  a shot, loved reading the extra details that you don't see in the movies. Rating this book a 5 ***** a definite reread.

Vampire Mage (Clutch Mistress # 1) by Janelle Peel

So this is a new author and new series for me and at first I wasn't sure. But I like a book that make me smile every page to every other page. I don't know if I will actually reread this one. But it is a good book, slow starting but good. I rate this book a 4 ****

Bookish

You know your a bookaholic when you would rather read than almost anything else, get over excited about new books coming out, and do a little happy dance when a book order comes in. Just got Divergent and the Twilight series in the mail.

This quote is so true 💖

Immortally yours (Argeneau #26) by Lynsay Sands

This is a good book, but could be better. My rating for this book is a 4 ****, which is unusual for me when it comes to Lynsay Sands books. This one gets a 4 **** because it is hard to under stand what is being said at times. I get one of the characters is from Scotland, but she has to know that this would be hard for some to understand. That is just frustrating.

Books and children

So I ordered a book for my daughter to teach her a bit about her body and what will be changing including the impending monthly visit. It turned out to be not such a great Idea. Unless you know the details of the book that you are getting your child, go to the actual store to purchase instead of ordering it. I get that pictures of the female body is necessary visual guides when teaching a girl about her body. But the detailed pictures of the male anatomy is not necessary for the age range this book was suggested for. I believe the book was suggested from 9 to 13. And my rating is a 1 * considering it's content and the age range it was suggested for.

Serpentine by Laurell K Hamilton

This book by Anita Blake seems heavier on relationship issues than previous books. Not sure how I feel about it but it is still a good book. Can't wait to see if there will be more books.

Really liked this book and it is on my list of books that I will read again. My rating for this book is a 5 *****

The Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton

I decided that I needed to do a review of sorts for the series as a whole, because I have the newest one in the series waiting for me in my mail box. My rating for the series as a whole is a 5 ***** as I will reread all of the books. Which is saying something as it is the 26th book in the series that is in my mail box at the moment. Can't wait to start the newest one. I reread the whole series in preparation for the new book that came out this month. And I will leave you guys with the picture and the link for the first book in the series. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/30281.Guilty_Pleasures?ac=1&from_search=true

Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost

There is no better way to end a book than while smiling. This book turned out better than I thought it would. And I am giving it a 4 **** review. I don't think I will reread this one by it was a good book. And look forward to the next one in the series and how Vlad and Leila will over come this next obstacle in their lives.

Harry Potter and the cursed Child pt 1 & 2 by J.K. Rowling

This book got a 2 * from me. It was ok and I finished it but I was happy when It finally ended. I think it was the style of writing in this book that made it a book that I didn't enjoy reading. Not one I will reread.

The Night Universe Collection by Selene Charles

This one has a 1 * rating from me as not being able to finish. This is one I hope to try again at a later date. The description for the book was interesting and pulled me in which is why I was surprised to have had a hard time getting into the book.

Firestarter by Stephen King

Another book I couldn't get through. Rated this book a 1 * I just got tired of the book describing the same thing over and over like I didn't get the first time. Please comment and tell me if his other books are like that. I had really wanted to try Stephen King books and was upset I couldn't even finish this one.

Magic Bites by ILONA Andrews

This is one of the few books that I have rated a 1 *. The only books I rate a 1 * are ones I was unable to finish. I just couldn't get into it. This book was a slow starting one, I got through 60 pages before giving up. Which I really hate to do, but I found myself actually dreading picking up the book. And I really love reading.

Bitten by Kelly Armstrong

Usually when I have seen a series on T.V. before reading the series I can't get through the book. I was surprised to love this book just as much as the series that showed on T.V. I just hope that the book series doesn't end as abruptly as the T.V. series did. 5 ***** rating. will reread

Bound by Flames (Night Prince #3) by Jeaniene Frost

Leila’s years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn’t learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin…

Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn’t like Vlad to feel fear, but he does…for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad’s greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him—and his overprotectiveness drives Leila away—Vlad’s love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both…

But I am a bit disappointed with this book. Don't get me wrong it is still a good book. Just not as attention grabbing as the first and second of the series was. Rates a 4 **** for me as I said before this one wasn't as attention grabbing.

Will be adding more as I read. The authors I highlighted in red I just couldn't get interested. Something about their writing Styles didn't do it for me. I need to be pulled into the book by page 60. If I am not I usually end up stopping the book. There are too many good books out there to stick with one you truly don't like.

Twice Tempted (Night Prince #2) by Jeaniene Frost

Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges...

Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her.

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity...

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity.

Another major page turner in the series. Only the second one in the series and I am definitely hooked. The cliff hanger at the end has me impatient to read more.

Another 5 ***** rating as a definite reread for me. I can't wait to see what the next book holds for the series.

Once Burned (Night Prince # 1) by Jeaniene Frost

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude...until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire...

He's the Prince of Night...

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all—but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him—a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

I was surprised by this spin off from a series I already liked. This book is the first in the series called Night Prince by Jeaniene Frost. The series it spun off from is the night huntress series. While the night huntress series is good and provides some history and back round from some characters it doesn't seem to matter which order you read them in. So you can read the night huntress series first or Night Prince. The first book in the series it sucked me in immediately, I didn't seem to want to put it down. Which is exactly how I like my books. I went straight into the next book in the series, which that more than anything should tell you how much I liked the book. Jeaniene did another amazing job creating this series. And I can't wait for the next books that are sure to come.

All in all I give this book a rating of a 5 *****
Which I only usually give to books that I will gladly reread.
